Confusion in Neighborhood Locations: a new sub problem

Today was a prime example of how historic names or builder created names of neighborhoods can confuse or bring up questions to where a neighborhood is located. 

We received a call from an agent from out of the area who has a client who wants to buy land in a neighborhood called "Piedmont Heights."

Piedmont is a city located with in Oakland. It incorpoarated itself in 1907 and became a charter city in 1922.  Piedmont Heights was once a neighborhood bordering the Oakland neighborhoood of Piedmont.  When Piedmont became a charterted city the name lost use over time.  The name has now become Upper Rockridge with it's location just above Rockridge. Some still use the old name but the majority of people it is Upper Rockridge.

Touring Oakland

Yesterday, I toured Oakland based on adds in Craigslist and the newspaper.  It was interesting to look from a different perspective.  I realized you can end up in some interesting areas if you base your search on those trying to rent their own homes or properties.

"Great neighborhood" One, that is an illegal advertisement for a real estate agent but a home owner can claim that while renting their home.  So, this great neighborhood.  To be polite and not insult anyone.  I will just use the words far from it.

So in this research I am finding that facts will be important.  Also, maybe a variety of opinions may be of help to.  Maybe quotes.  A resident of many years, a new resident, maybe one or two of various age groups, from an outsiders perspective and a professional.
